Orlando man, 23, killed in crash with dump truck Fatal wreck closes intersection of Bachman, Thorpe roads
ORLANDO, Fla. – A 23-year-old Orlando man was killed early Friday in a crash involving a dump truck in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The fatal crash was reported around 5 a.m. at Bachman and Thorpe roads, east of Orange Blossom Trail.
The FHP said the man, whose name has not been released, was driving a 1998 two-door Nissan west on Thorpe Road when the dump truck traveled into the intersection and the vehicles collided.
The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said an investigation is trying to determine whether the dump truck driver, a 55-year-old Kissimmee man, ran a stop sign before the crash.
Charges are pending against him, the FHP said.
