Woman struck, killed near Davenport after car breaks down, troopers say

Fatal crash happened on Osceola Polk Line Road

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A 33-year-old Lakeland woman was struck and killed late Monday near Davenport after the vehicle she was in broke down, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal wreck happened on Osceola Polk Line Road near Sandy Oak Drive in Osceola County.

According to a crash report, the woman’s boyfriend told troopers she crossed the road to verify an address to provide to a towing service when she was struck by a black Nissan Maxima.

The woman was taken to Orlando Health Emergency Room - Reunion Village and was pronounced dead, the FHP said.

The driver, a 32-year-old New York man, was uninjured.

An investigation is ongoing.
