Pedestrian struck, killed crossing DeLand road, police say

DELAND, Fla. – A pedestrian was struck and killed on Saturday morning, according to the DeLand Police Department.

Police said they are investigating the crash that happened around 10:27 a.m. on Woodland Boulevard near the intersection of Chipola Avenue.

According to a news release, a man was crossing the intersection when he was struck by a Ford pickup truck traveling northbound on Woodland Boulevard.

According to the release, the victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the truck’s driver was not injured.
