ORLANDO, Fla. – Today, we are welcoming in members from the Officer Support Initiative.
The organization’s primary goal is to break the stigma when it comes to mental health struggles, especially where law enforcement officers are concerned.
In the past, they have teamed up with the Orlando Magic and portions of proceeds from tickets from select games go right back to the organization so that they can continue to provide resources to law enforcement officers who need them.
Steven Montiero, better known as “Trooper Steve," joined the News 6 morning team as its Traffic Safety Expert in October 2017.
A Central Florida native and decorated combat veteran, Montiero comes to the station following an eight-year assignment with the Florida Highway Patrol.
