Orlando woman struck, killed while walking across road in Celebration, troopers say

Crash occurred on Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway at Celebration Boulevard

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A 63-year-old Orlando woman was fatally struck by a pickup truck Friday night while walking across Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Celebration, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 10:11 p.m. as a pickup truck traveled westbound in the inside left turn lane of Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway at Celebration Boulevard, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, the woman was walking northbound across all travel lanes, not in a marked crosswalk, when she entered the direct path of the pickup truck and was hit.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, the report states.

The 33-year-old Kissimmee man driving the pickup truck was not injured and remained at the scene, troopers said.

FHP is still investigating.
