Apopka man, 19, killed in crash off Orange Blossom Trail, troopers say

Crash occurred south of Boy Scout Boulevard

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 19-year-old Apopka man died early Sunday when the car he was driving struck a concrete pole near Plymouth, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 3:19 a.m. along northbound Orange Blossom Trail, south of Boy Scout Boulevard, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, the man was driving a sedan in the inside lane when the vehicle ran off the roadway to the right, entering the outside shoulder where the left side of the car struck a concrete pole. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the report states.

Troopers believe the man was not wearing a seat belt in the crash.

FHP is still investigating.
