I-4 exit to Turnpike shuts down amid vehicle fire in Orlando (DOT)

ORLANDO, Fla. – Interstate 4′s eastbound and westbound exits to the Florida Turnpike in Orlando were temporarily closed Sunday as crews responded to a vehicle fire, according to Florida 511.

Emergency vehicles responded to the area around 10:30 a.m., FL 511 reported, which prompted the closure of I-4′s on ramps to the Turnpike.

Camera views showed stop-and-go traffic within each lane of eastbound I-4 at Exit 77, as well as slowed westbound traffic.

The emergency vehicles blocking both ramps moved out of the way shortly after 11 a.m., with traffic on I-4 seen flowing freely in both directions within around 10 more minutes.

No other details have been shared or confirmed at the time of this report.
