MARION COUNTY, Fla. – An 85-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Marion County on Wednesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened at the intersection of S.R. 200 and SW 73rd Street Road around 10 a.m.

According to a crash report, a sedan was traveling west on SW 73rd Street Road, approaching the stop sign for the intersection of State Road 200.

Troopers said a truck was traveling north in the middle lane of State Road 200, approaching the side-street intersection of SW 73rd Street Road.
According to the report, the sedan attempted to make a left turn onto State Road 200 and into the direct path of the truck.
As a result, the front of the truck collided with the left side of the sedan.
Both drivers were taken to HCA Ocala Regional Medical Center.
Troopers said the driver of the sedan, identified as an 85-year-old Marion County woman, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Troopers added that the driver of the truck, identified as a 57-year-old Marion County woman, suffered minor injuries.
