ORLANDO, Fla. – As Work Zone Safety Week wraps up here in Florida, it’s a great time to hit the brakes (safely!) and remind ourselves what really matters when driving through construction areas.
With so many road projects happening across the state, here are a few key things to keep in mind when you’re behind the wheel in a work zone:
Slow down and follow posted speed limits.
Stay alert and watch for workers and equipment.
Avoid distractions — put that phone down!
Watch for traffic pattern changes and merge early.
Keep a safe distance from the car in front of you.
It’s all about keeping you, other drivers, and our road crews safe.
