Woman ejected from car, killed during crash along SR-429 in Orange County, troopers say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle crash along State Road 429 in Orange County early Sunday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol

The crash occurred around 4:27 a.m. at mile marker 8 (Western Way), troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, the woman was driving a 2016 Volkswagen Passat southbound in the inside lane when she lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason. The Passat ran off the roadway and struck a guardrail, causing the driver to be ejected from the car, the report states.

Further information about the driver’s identity is pending word from the Medical Examiner’s office, according to the report. Troopers believe she was not wearing a seat belt during the crash.

FHP is still investigating.
