Crews use extrication tools to free trapped driver

One person was transported to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash on I-75 in Ocala. (Ocala Fire Rescue)

OCALA, Fla. – A driver was hospitalized Monday after a crash along Interstate 75 in Ocala, officials said.

Crews arrived just before 3:30 p.m. to find the driver trapped inside the vehicle after it collided with a guardrail, Ocala Fire Rescue said.

Firefighters used extrication tools to free the driver.

The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment. The extent of the driver’s injuries are not known.

No other passengers were involved in the crash.

The northbound lanes of I-75 were closed for about 20 minutes while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
