LONGWOOD, Fla. – Three people were taken to the hospital Monday morning after a four-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on Interstate 4 in Seminole County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened around 6 a.m. on I-4 east near Longwood.
According to troopers, an SUV traveling in the merge lane failed to merge safely and entered the path of a semi-truck, causing a chain-reaction crash with the semi and two other vehicles.
The semi-truck driver and passenger were uninjured, while the three other drivers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
One lane of traffic was initially able to get by, but the interstate was later fully reopened.
