ORLANDO, Fla. – A motorcyclist was critically injured early Thursday in a two-vehicle crash on I-4 in Orange County, police said.

The wreck happened around 3 a.m. on I-4 east near the on-ramp from South Kirkman Road, south of Florida’s Turnpike.

Orlando police said a motorcycle and an SUV were involved in the crash, and the motorcyclist was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

No other details about the crash have been released.

Lanes of I-4 were closed in the area, causing major backups for hours. The interstate was later fully reopened.
