LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A man who was arrested Friday night after a crash in Lake County is accused of DUI manslaughter in the deaths of a man and a woman, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Seenarine Hardeo, 50, of Groveland, faces two counts of DUI manslaughter in the fatal three-vehicle crash, troopers said.
The crash occurred around 7 p.m. as Hardeo drove a 2009 Mini Cooper northbound on State Road 33, north of Swamp Drive, according to an FHP crash report.
The Mini Cooper traveled into the southbound lane and in the direct path of a southbound semitruck, causing both vehicles to collide with one another, the report states. The impact caused the big rig to veer into the northbound lane, where it struck a 2006 Chevy Silverado that then overturned as both vehicles left the roadway, troopers said.
In the Chevy, the 22-year-old Frostproof man behind the wheel and the 18-year-old Tallahassee woman riding as his passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report. The 67-year-old Miramar man driving the semitruck was hospitalized for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said.
Hardeo was booked into the Lake County jail, where records show he was being held on no bond at the time of this report.
FHP is still investigating.
