ST. CLOUD, Fla. – If you’ve ever thought about continuing your law enforcement career in Central Florida or know someone who’s been looking for the right department to call home, this may be the perfect opportunity.
On a recent edition of Trooper Steve on Patrol, I had the chance to catch up with Sgt. Ronnie Morales with the St. Cloud Police Department’s Recruitment Division to talk about an upcoming two-day hiring event specifically designed for sworn law enforcement officers.
The event takes place Jan. 30–31 starting at 9 a.m. at the St. Cloud Civic Center, located at 1301 17th St.
According to Morales, this hiring event is all about making the process easier and a whole lot faster for qualified officers looking to transition into a new agency.

“This event is designed to streamline everything,” Morales explained. “Instead of applicants traveling to multiple locations or waiting weeks between steps, we’re completing testing, interviews, and physical abilities all in one place.”
The two-day event is open to:
- Florida state-certified law enforcement officers
- Out-of-state officers eligible for Equivalency of Training (EOT)
By consolidating the process into a single location, the department hopes to remove many of the common barriers officers face when considering a move, including time off work, travel costs, and long hiring timelines.
And while the process is efficient, the goal remains personal. St. Cloud Police Department prides itself on its core values of courage, compassion and integrity, and Morales says they’re looking for officers who want to be part of a growing community-focused agency.
If you’re interested in attending, RSVP is required. Applicants can contact:

There’s also a QR code available on the event flyer that links directly to additional hiring information.
As we talked during the patrol, one thing became clear; this isn’t just about filling positions. It’s about finding officers who want to grow, serve, and make an impact in one of Central Florida’s fastest-growing communities.
So if your badge has a few miles on it and you’re ready for the next chapter, this hiring event may be worth circling on your calendar.
