Cocoa man riding motorcycle killed in crash on SR-417 in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 22-year-old Cocoa man died Thursday night when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guardrail while traveling on State Road 417 in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 11:07 p.m. near the State Road 528 ramp.

According to a crash report, the motorcyclist was heading south on SR-417 and approaching the eastbound SR-528 ramp. Troopers said the 22-year-old failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of the motorcycle, striking a guardrail.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation is ongoing.
