VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Friday in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 2 a.m. on State Road 15A (N Spring Garden Avenue) near Cranleigh Avenue, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, a 43-year-old Orange City man was driving a 1997 Toyota Camry northbound on S.R. 15A, approaching Cranleigh Avenue, when he lost control of the car and ran off the roadway left.

The car entered the median and struck a railroad crossing gate arm support pole, causing the vehicle to rotate, the report states.
