BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – One person was killed in a head-on crash in Brevard County on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened at Sykes Creek Parkway near Old Audubon Road around 5:30 p.m.

According to a crash report, a Toyota 4Runner was traveling north on Sykes Creek Parkway, approaching Old Audubon Road.

At the same time, a GMC Sierra was traveling south on Sykes Creek Parkway, approaching Old Audubon Road.
Troopers said for unknown reasons, the driver of the 4Runner failed to negotiate the curve and veered into the southbound lane in the direct path of the Sierra. As a result, the front of the SUV struck the front of the Sierra.
The driver of the 4Runner, only identified as an adult male, was taken to Cape Canaveral Hospital and pronounced dead.
The Sierra’s driver, identified as a 30-year-old male from Merritt Island, was not injured and remained at the scene.
There is currently a roadblock for both directions on Sykes Creek Parkway, troopers said.
The crash remains under investigation.
