ORLANDO, Fla. – Heads up if you have plans this weekend. Central Florida’s typical afternoon storm pattern will be changing a little for weekend.
For Saturday morning, expect to see more clouds than sunshine. If you’re up early, a few downpours and a stray rumble of thunder will be possible. Expect rain and storm chances to increase gradually through Central Florida later Saturday morning.
The extra clouds and rain around will help keep Central Florida less hot than the previous week to ten days.
Scattered storms will still be possible through the early afternoon.
Most of Saturday evening appears dry. Highs Saturday will top out in the low 90s. The heat index ill still approach 100 degrees after rain and storms move out.
Look for a few scattered downpours and storms to be around Sunday morning as well.
Highs Sunday will climb back to the mid 90s with a heat index of 95-105.
Saharan dust will also be rolling into Central Florida by the end of the weekend and especially the start of next work week. This dry, dusty air will help to lower our storm chances for the week ahead after Sunday.
Expect the really hot weather to come back as the dry, dusty air dominates Florida’s weather pattern.
The tropics remain nice and quiet.
This is climatologically speaking the quietest part of the actual hurricane season which runs through November.
