Triple-digit ‘feels-like’ temperatures in Florida. Spotty showers possible

Hot, humid weather to persist through weekend in Orlando area

ORLANDO, Fla. – If you’re headed out in Central Florida, get ready for more heat and humidity as we close out the week.

Highs are expected to reach 93 degrees Friday in Orlando, with “feels-like” temperatures soaring as high as 101.

The heat index could reach 106 in The Villages.

Highs & Feels Like

Humidity readings will stay stubbornly high across the region, often in the upper 80% range or above. Conditions will remain muggy and sticky, so you’ll want to stay hydrated if you plan to spend time outside during the day.

The morning will likely start off dry with just a mix of clouds and sun, but isolated showers and storms are forecast to pop up as the day goes on.

Expect about a 30% chance of rain along the coast, with higher odds inland. Areas near Marion County could see a 50-70% chance of showers and even some downpours by evening.

Rain chances

Some scattered showers may continue after sunset, especially along I-75. These storms aren’t expected to be widespread or severe, but keep an umbrella close just in case.

If you’re keeping an eye on the tropics, rest easy for now. The National Hurricane Center isn’t highlighting any areas of concern in the Atlantic basin, and no tropical development is expected over the next several days.

6 a.m. tropical outlook

Looking ahead, the News 6 weather team expects the hot and humid pattern to persist through the weekend. Saturday and Sunday are both forecast to reach highs around 93 degrees, with a 30-40% chance of rain each day. Sunday, which is Father’s Day, will likely stay hot and unsettled.

Conditions are expected to remain sticky and stormy at times into next week.
