ORLANDO, Fla. – Tropical depression Chantal made landfall near Myrtle Beach early Sunday as a tropical storm and is moving into Virginia.
As of the 11 p.m. advisory, Chantal was located about 60 miles southeast of Danville, Virginia.
Chantal is tracking to the northeast at 10 mph, carrying maximum sustained winds of 30 mph.
The storm will continue to produce heavy rainfall across North Carolina and south-central Virginia into Monday, with rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches, and local amounts up to 6 inches.
An elevated risk of flash flooding remains.
