The region is also under several advisories: a high surf advisory, a high rip current risk along the entire Central Florida coastline, and a small craft advisory for marine activities. Dangerous beach and marine conditions are expected to stick around throughout the weekend.
Anyone heading to the coast should be extra cautious due to rough surf and the higher risk for rip currents.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected through the entire weekend, with rain chances rising from Saturday’s lower morning levels and reaching 40% by the middle of the day.
Tropics monitored, but no immediate storm threats
Watching two areas in the tropics. A disturbance near the Bahamas has about a 10% chance of developing over the next week, while another system emerging off the coast of Africa has about a 50% chance in the same period.
