ORLANDO, Fla. – The coldest air in years is about to blast into Central Florida.
The strong Arctic front slices through Central Florida late Thursday morning. The coldest morning of the bunch is expected to be Friday morning.
Widespread 20s will be expected northwest of Interstate 4.
Freezing temperatures may push as far south as the I-4 corridor.
To find a morning colder, you’ll have to go back to Christmas morning of 2022.
As of Tuesday evening, The current air mass is charging up near the Hudson Bay, just south of the Arctic Circle.
The red line shows the trajectory the air mass will take from the Arctic Circle to Central Florida.
This isn’t just a short-lived round of cold air either, a reinforcing shot arrives over the weekend taking Central Florida back to the 20s and 30s Monday morning.
