ORLANDO, Fla. – Another cold front will usher in Arctic air again across Central Florida. Subfreezing temperatures are expected early Monday morning for many locations, prompting a Weather Alert Day from Sunday night into Monday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued freeze warnings for Sunday night through Monday morning.

Monday morning temperatures are expected not only to fall below freezing, but to remain below freezing for several hours in many areas.

Wind chills will be especially cold, dropping into the 20s across much of the region, so if you are heading out early, be sure to bundle up.

If you have not already, take steps now to protect pets, plants, and pipes. If you are cold, your pets are cold. Bring them indoors, or make sure they have a warm shelter with food and water. Sensitive and tropical plants should be brought inside if potted, or covered if left outdoors.

Pipes should generally be fine, but northern counties may dealing with a hard freeze and may want to take extra precautions with exposed pipes and outdoor spigots by covering them or allowing a slow drip of water.

Looking ahead to Tuesday, it’ll be another cold start with morning temperatures in the 30s and 40s, and a few locations could dip below freezing once again.
