Dry, breezy weekend adds to Central Florida drought concerns

Expect sunny skies, gusty winds, warming temperatures across region

ORLANDO, Fla. – Get ready for more sunshine but less relief from the ongoing drought, Central Florida.

The region will see westerly winds gusting between 10 to 20 miles per hour through the morning, with occasional gusts even stronger—possibly reaching 20 to 25 mph through much of the day.

The good news: those winds are expected to die down by tonight, leaving behind clear skies and calm conditions for the rest of the evening.

The latest drought monitor shows that all of Central Florida is facing some level of drought, and with little to no rain in the immediate forecast, these conditions are expected to stay or even worsen. So, if you’re planning anything outdoors, dry and breezy weather will definitely be on your side.
