SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – A 27-year-old Florida man was killed Friday morning when his vehicle drove off an overpass, landed on I-75 in Sumter County and crashed into another vehicle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The fatal wreck occurred around 10 a.m. on I-75 at mile marker 331 near Wildwood.
The FHP said an Inverness man was driving a Honda Accord east on County Road 462 when he lost control and drove off the overpass.
The Honda landed on I-75 south and collided with a Volvo SUV driven by a 61-year-old Georgia man, according to an FHP crash report.

The Inverness man died at the scene, and the Volvo driver suffered minor injuries, according to Florida troopers.
All southbound lanes of I-75 were shut down, FHP said, adding that C.R. 462 was also closed. Traffic cameras later showed all lanes flowing again before 3 p.m.
