ORLANDO, Fla. – Temperatures are still slowly creeping higher and higher after the cold air has given way to far more comfortable, albeit warmer conditions.
That’s still the story for today and tomorrow. This should, in fact, hold true to the weekend. Valentine’s Day thankfully is looking warm, muggy, but dry, despite the winter storm that’s going to try and push our way through this weekend.
Before we get there, however, morning fog will slide through the viewing area overnight tonight and be at its most dense in our northwestern counties by sunrise tomorrow morning. It looks to build along the Gulf coast and slowly fan out towards the east as the morning progresses.
Please plan accordingly and remain vigilant at the wheel if you come face to face with a thick blanket of clouds in the middle of the road.
Dress light for the afternoon, as temps get into the mid to upper 70s closing in on that 80 degree mark. If you don’t quite reach 80 in your neck of the woods, rest assured it’s coming.
For tonight, lows will shrink into the 50s. Expect a re-run of what you saw today, with just a slightly warmer note to the air.
The subtropical ridge set up looks to stay in place for another week or two. Some computer models want to keep it over us and the Gulf for the rest of the month.
If you’re a fan of the warmer weather and want some good news, or you already miss the chill and kind of want to embrace the not so good news, head on over to my recent article HERE breaking down why it is I believe winter is quickly winding down in our neighborhood.
It seems very likely we’ll stay at the average for this time of year in the temperature department, or exceed the standard and level off just above where we usually are for February.
The ridge of high pressure will act as a barrier, stopping any major cold dumps in their tracks before they can swamp the state all over again like what occurred at the start of the month.
Friday is looking good as well, just watch out for the coastal rip current risk and the patchy fog in the morning time all over again. It’s great to see such a low impact weather week, although things will be changing through this weekend.
