Changes arrive Sunday night

ORLANDO, Fla. – Plenty of sunshine and beautiful conditions this Valentine’s Day!

Highs climb into the upper 70s to low 80s inland, with lower 70s along the coast. It’ll be nice and dry — perfect for dinner plans or a sunset stroll.

The first half of Sunday looks pretty nice with increasing clouds, but it will turn warm, muggy, and breezy by the afternoon. Highs reach the mid 80s in Orlando.

Right now, forecast models show a line of showers and storms moving through after 6 p.m.

The Daytona 500 looks good for the start of the race, but we’ll be watching the evening closely.

Severe Risk

There is a risk for strong to severe storms Sunday night into early Monday. A few storms could bring:

  • Heavy downpours
  • Wind gusts up to 50 mph
  • Frequent lightning

Some early morning rain is possible Monday, but most of the heavier activity should move out before sunrise. A few lingering showers can’t be ruled out Monday afternoon.

After that? The rest of the week looks mild and dry.
