Small dip in rain chances before rising into the holiday weekend. Here’s the latest timeline

Rounds of scattered storms for Fourth of July

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida is settling into a typical early-July pattern, with hot and humid afternoons followed by scattered showers and thunderstorms.

That setup will continue through the rest of the holiday week and into the Fourth of July weekend.

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY

A slight dip in rain chances is expected for the middle part of the work week with coverage at 30-40% for far inland communities.

High temperatures will climb into the upper 80s and low 90s, while humidity pushes feels-like temperatures into the upper 90s and lower 100s.

HOLIDAY WEEKEND

The overall storm coverage will spike into the holiday weekend.

Expect a mix of sun and clouds each day, with scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms developing as sea breezes collide inland zones. Rain and storm coverage will increase to 60-80%. Storms will remain capable of producing heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds.

Temperatures will also stay above normal, with highs in the low to mid 90s and heat index values climbing between 100 and 107 degrees before storms develop each afternoon.

If you have outdoor plans for the holiday weekend, the best advice is to schedule activities during the morning hours and keep a close eye on the News 6 Weather App during the afternoon, when storms become much more likely.
