ORLANDO, Fla. – Your News 6 Weather Team has issued a Weather Aware Day as dangerous heat will persist across Central Florida.
Heat advisories are in effect for all of Central Florida, except Osceola and Brevard Counties, until 8 p.m., as high temperatures will hit the mid-90s with “feels like” temperatures ranging from 108-112 degrees in many of our neighborhoods.
On top of that, rainfall remains limited this afternoon as dry air lingers in our atmosphere. Rain chances will top out at 30% with much of the coverage south of the Orlando Metro.
Rain chances quickly ramp back up early Thursday morning as a pulse of energy ahead of a cold front reaches Central Florida. This will help to develop showers and thunderstorms across the area overnight and into the Thursday morning commute. Another round of scattered storms is expected in the afternoon as well. This, mixed with higher cloud coverage, will keep highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.
Rain chances remain high for Friday and into the weekend as well as deep moisture continues to hover over Central Florida as a stalled front meanders around the Panhandle. This moisture and energy from the front will allow for numerous showers and thunderstorms through Sunday.
