ORLANDO, Fla. – Make sure the kids are packing an ice-cold water bottle in their backpacks as they head back to school as high temperatures are set to soar for the upcoming week.
Monday
The first day of school for many will feature much drier conditions as dry air in the mid-levels of our atmosphere continues to filter into Central Florida. This will keep our sea breeze storm coverage to isolated-spotty. Expect a few dotted showers, maybe a t-storm or two, as the kids are leaving school and heading home. The bigger story is the heat! With the drier air, more sunshine, and a ridge of high pressure building in the upper levels of our atmosphere, high temperatures will return to the mid-upper 90s across Central Florida with “feels like” temperatures over 100ºF.
This Week
As this ridge of high pressure continues to build in over the state, rain chances remain low through this week and into the upcoming weekend. This also means that mid 90s are here to stay for the rest of the week with heat indices in the 100-105ºF range.
