ORLANDO, Fla. – Drier air being pushed into Central Florida from the Gulf means rain chances stay on the lower side for the upcoming weekend. That means highs will once again climb into the mid 90s with heat indices over 100ºF.
Saturday
With dry air in the mid levels of our atmosphere, rain chances will be spotty in nature Saturday afternoon. Rain chances will top out at 30-40% across Central Florida. Rain will start popping up after lunchtime near I-75. Storm motion will be from west to east. Only isolated to spotty showers will move through during the afternoon. The better chance for storms will be along the 95 corridor as the east coast sea breeze tries to move inland late in the afternoon and collides with our westerly breeze. Those storms will linger until early evening and dissipate around 8pm. Highs will climb into the mid 90s with “feels like” temperatures ranging 100-105ºF.
Sunday
Rain chances elevate a little bit Sunday as we start to tap into a little moisture from a weak frontal boundary to our north as it dips into the Southeast. This will allow for scattered storms along the sea breeze in the afternoon after a dry morning. Storms will once again develop near 75 and push towards 95 later in the afternoon.
