“I live in Clermont about 1000 feet away from a large lake. My question is since I live so close to a body of water, what are some things that I as a homeowner can do to protect my property from any potential debris flying onto and potentially damaging my home. ”
-Jennifer Gutierrez (Clermont)
“Is there a high potential for a hurricane to hit the Gulf coast similar to what Milton did last year and come through Fruitland Park/Leesburg area in Northwestern Lake County with strong enough winds to cause damage and power outages like Milton also did? I hope not because seeing pieces of siding and soffitts rip off and hearing breaking tree branches in Milton was scarey. That was the strongest winds I’ve ever been in. It was about 75 mph. I don’t want extended power outages either because my apartment complex banned the use of generators during my use of one after Milton. My lead acid batteries I use to power inverters won’t last through an extended power outage.”
-Allen Dorney (Lake County)
“What would you recommend as the best hurricane emergency kit to buy?”
-Scot Gruber
“Where is the recommended or preferred place to purchase non perishable food supplies? And what is the recommended number of days of food to be purchased for a hurricane related event?”
-Bob Stawarz
