17-year-old boy drowns near pier at Cocoa Beach Teen was found unresponsive after surfing No description found
COCOA BEACH, Fla. – A 17-year-old boy from Cocoa drowned near the Westgate Cocoa Beach pier on Saturday morning, according to Cocoa Beach Police & Fire.
The boy had been surfing when his friend found him facedown and unresponsive around 9:15 a.m., according to officials.

After resuscitation efforts, the boy was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.
The investigation is ongoing.
