Hollywood Studios gives sneak peek ahead of 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'

ORLANDO, Fla. – Character encounters, new toys, and replicas are ready for fans in anticipation of the movie premiere Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The Star Wars themed attractions at Disney's Hollywood Studios involve the creation of Star Wars Launch Bay, where guests can meet Darth Vader and

Chewbacca in a 360-degree immersive area themed around the Star Destroyer.

"You're stepping onto the bridge of a star destroyer, you're stepping into a hidden rebel base, and you're coming face to face with these iconic

characters that the whole world loves, " said Michael Roddy, Show Director for Disney's Hollywood Studios.

A new courtyard is filled with all-things Star Wars, a video game center, a movie theater showing abridged versions of the Star Wars movies and a motion simulator showing Star Wars locales and characters. This is all a part of what will be the future Star Wars-themed land at the park.

"As new chapters are being released whether those are movies or TV shows comics, video games we're going to be celebrating them here at the park" said Brent Strong, Creative Director for Walt Disney Imagineer.

Additional Star Wars elements begin Dec. 18 with a nightly fireworks show called "Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular" to celebrate the premier of the new movie.
