The Caribbean-inspired chain Bahama Breeze has announced abrupt closures of over a dozen restaurants — including some in Florida, according to USA Today.
The outlet reports that owner Darden Restaurants shut down these locations to focus more on its highest-performing restaurants while reinforcing the brand’s performance.

According to The Gainesville Sun, one such store sported a sign reading, “This location is permanently closed. Please visit a nearby sister location,” pushing prospective guests to instead visit Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse.
Meanwhile, Naples Daily News announced that another location was closed on Thursday after only 11 months in business.
Ten other closures have been reported across other states, though the following five locations were shut down in the Sunshine State:
- Gainesville — 3989 Plaza Blvd.
- Naples — 2088 9th Street N.
- Daytona Beach — 1786 W. International Speedway Blvd.
- Sunrise — 2750 Sawgrass Mills Cir.
- Oakland Park — 3339 N. Federal Hwy.
