Universal opens drive-in movie mini golf course

Golf course brings family friendly fun to CityWalk

ORLANDO, Fla. – Universal's latest attraction means you can tee off in the theme of your favorite movies.

The Hollywood Drive-In had its grand opening Monday. The miniature golf course is located at CityWalk.

Universal said they hope to attract more families with young children.

One of the two 18-hole courses features a sci-fi theme, while the other takes you through horror movie scenes. Universal says the Hollywood Drive-In is appropriate for all ages, including toddlers.

While Universal reps said opening the attraction during spring break was a coincidence, vacationing families say it was a nice surprise.

"It's really nice and different.  I like the theme, the drive-in theme.  There's lots of music from movies you know, so it's entertaining," said Fred Rankin.  He and his son are vacationing from Tennessee.

The Hollywood Drive-In is open daily from 8 a.m. until 2 a.m.

Admission for one course is $13.99 for adults and $11.99 for kids ages 3 to 9.
