ORLANDO, Fla. – A waterspout developed Saturday In Brevard county as a line of strong storms exited the Space Coast.
A photo sent to News 6 by Pamela Hedstrom shows the waterspout behind a cruise ship at Port Canaveral.
The waterspout developed in the Banana River between North Merritt Island and the Cape north of SR-528.
Storms moving from land to the ocean and vice versa experience friction from the changing landscape and can help provide low-level wind shear to produce a waterspout or tornado.
No damage was reported from the touchdown.
