New ride at SeaWorld Orlando may top 200 feet Attraction would be tallest roller coaster in Florida
ORLANDO, Fla. – SeaWorld Orlando's "biggest ride yet" could be even bigger than expected.
According to a filing with the Federal Aviation Administration, SeaWorld wants the planned roller coaster to rise 201 feet into the sky. That would be one-foot taller than Sheikra at SeaWorld's Busch Gardens park in Tampa.
The FAA has to sign off on anything taller than 200 feet.
The filing does not reveal a name for the coaster, but coordinates show it would be built between Kraken and "Shark Encounter."
Sharks are rumored to be the theme of the thrill ride.
SeaWorld plans to reveal more details May 27.
