Man arrested after shooting down drone

Suspect says drone invaded his privacy

HILLVIEW, Ken. – A Kentucky man is facing several charges after shooting down a drone he says was hovering over his yard.

William Merideth says Doug Bogg invaded his privacy when his drone flew over his yard where his two daughters were sitting.

That's when Merideth says he grabbed his shotgun and shot down the drone.

Bogg, however, says the drone was well over Merideth's home and never hovered.

"If someone was flying in my back yard, 10 feet, hovering looking around playing peekaboo under a canopy, I would shoot it down too. The problem with Willie is, he's not telling the truth," Bogg said.

Merideth was arrested shortly after shooting down the drone and now faces endangerment and criminal mischief charges.
