BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol said several road closures are possible as it monitors fires across Orange and Brevard counties.
Troopers said a large fire in the area of east state roads 528 and 50, and one in the area of state roads 417 and 535, could likely cause closures for extended periods of time.
The FHP said drivers should use caution and have a plan when driving into limited visibility conditions, reduce speed when emergency lights are visible and follow directions if instructed to change direction of travel.
Officials said they are using bulldozers and Marsh Masters to attack the fire that is now 40 percent contained at 130 acres.
