Troopers said the Ford pickup truck with the trailer was heading north on S.R. 429 in the right lane.

A Ford van and a box truck hauling coconuts were parked on the right shoulder of northbound S.R. 429, troopers said. The van was parked behind the box truck.

Troopers said everyone inside the van and box truck were out of the vehicles, as the box truck had a flat tire.

The driver of the pickup truck said that traffic in front of him slowed and he was unable to stop, troopers said. The truck swerved to the right, and the front of the truck struck the rear of the van. The van was pushed into the box truck.

After the collision, troopers said the trailer portion of the pickup truck struck two people. The pickup then overturned onto its side.

One of the pedestrians was pinned under the van, troopers said. Both pedestrians struck suffered critical injuries and the driver of the pickup suffered minor injuries.

The FHP said the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
