ORLANDO, Fla. – Three teens yanked an elderly man from his vehicle and stole it while he was at a car wash in Orlando Wednesday afternoon, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
The 72-year-old victim was at Express Car Wash on Orange Blossom Trail at 1:35 p.m. when three teens approached him, one of them removed him from his car, then all three got in the vehicle and fled the area, a news release said.
A deputy found the stolen vehicle at the Beachline Expressway and Orange Blossom Trail, but the driver refused to stop, officials said.
A pursuit was authorized and the occupants of the vehicle were arrested after the driver crashed into an electric pole on Holden Avenue and Orange Blossom Trail, according to the news release.
The suspects were not injured. The victim sustained minor injuries.
The names and ages of the three people arrested in connection with the carjacking have not been released.
