Deputies said the suspect, whose name has not been released, attempted to rob one woman after meeting her to buy shoes. During the attempted robbery, a fight ensued that ended with the suspect shooting both the first woman and another woman who came outside to see what was going on, officials said.

According to a news release, after the shooting, the suspect attempted to flee by getting into a vehicle. The report states that he "drove approximately 10 feet" before crashing into a ditch.

After crashing, the suspect unsuccessfully attempted to steal another woman's car, according to deputies. They said he then pushed a passing bicyclist off of her bike and rode down 4th Street. Authorities said that while on 4th Street, the suspect stole a running car from a man in the process of opening his gate. That car was later found abandoned and on fire.

Deputies from Osceola County brought attention to a possible suspect, who one of the victims identified as the man who stole their vehicle. Osceola deputies developed misdemeanor drug charges on that suspect and brought him to the Osceola County Jail.

Detectives from Orange County are in the process of investigating in Osceola County and have not formally pressed charges against the man.
