Man shot to death in Orange County, deputies say

37-year-old man taken into custody

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – One man is dead and another is in custody after a shooting Sunday night, deputies said.

Officials with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to 1456 35th St. just after 6 p.m. to find a 62-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the torso. He later died at Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Mackenson Dorneval said the victim was his uncle.

“I feel sad,” Dorneval said. “ He would make people laugh. He’s fun to be around, so he’s a good guy.”

Dorneval said his uncle, Montreal Dorosier, was a father and grandfather and worked as a chef at a local theme park.

Deputies said a 37-year-old suspect was on the scene when they showed up and was being questioned by investigators.

Deputies said they’re now searching for clues and working to find a motive.

Dorneval said he doesn’t know what led to his uncle being killed. Neighbors said that earlier Sunday, people were outside a nearby home playing cards and having fun, as they usually did, when an argument broke out. They said that then led to gunfire, but deputies have not yet confirmed exactly what happened.

“It just hurts my family, you know?” Dorneval said.

No other details have been released.
