Man fatally shot in Azalea Park home with 2 young children present, deputies say

OCSO investigating homicide at Tamarack East Mobile Home Park

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Office are investigating the fatal shooting of a young father at a mobile home community in the Azalea Park area Friday.

Officials with the Sheriff's Office said a call for shots fired came in at 11:57 a.m.

Deputies responded to Tamarack East Mobile Home Park near South Goldenrod Road and Curry Ford Road and found the victim dead inside a mobile home at 7115 Honeycomb St.

The victim was killed in his home and his two young sons, ages 2 and 3, were home at the time of the shooting, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Orange County Fire Rescue.

The victim was identified as 24-year-old Gerard Anthony Freticelli Marcano.

The children were uninjured and taken to the Florida Hospital East with family. The Department of Children and Families was notified.

Witnesses told investigators they saw two unknown people running from the the scene, officials said.

"It's a very sad situation, he was a father, he was a son," Orange County Sheriff's Office Master Deputy Ingrid Tejada-Monforte said, adding it's alarming the incident happened in the middle of the day.
