MELBOURNE, Fla. – A Florida man is accused of stealing a shopping cart full of items from a Walmart and trying to sell them in the store''s parking lot, according to police.
The Melbourne Police Department arrested 37-year-old Gregory Sheets Saturday after officers said surveillance video from the Walmart on 1000 N. Wickham Road showed him filling the cart with various items and taking them outside the store without paying for them.

Police said customers noticed Sheets trying to sell the items in the parking lot and notified a loss prevention officer.

The loss prevention officer went outside and told Sheets to bring the shopping cart back, prompting Sheets to leave the property all together with the cart and other stolen items, according to an arrest report.
Officers said they later found Sheets in the parking lot of a nearby Wendy's restaurant with the cart after its wheels locked due to being taken off store property, police said. Authorities also found hundreds of dollars worth of stolen items, including oil, a bucket and a bike, according to the report.
Sheets, who was previously convicted on one charge of petit theft and was out on bond for another, was charged with possession of a grocery cart and grand theft, the report said.
