Man shot during argument outside Lake County liquor store, deputies say

SORRENTO, Fla. – The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the person behind a liquor store shooting that unfolded in Sorrento.

Deputies were called to AdventHealth in Tavares Sunday evening after a patient showed up with a gunshot wound. Authorities said he did not have life-threatening injuries.

The hospital was put on lockdown per protocol. The lockdown has since been lifted.

Detectives determined the man was shot at County Discount Liquor. They said the victim got into an argument with someone outside of the store when the person pulled a gun. After shooting the victim, the person left the scene, according to authorities.

The victim was taken to the hospital by his brother and a woman who witnessed the shooting, deputies say.

As of Monday, authorities report the victim is not cooperating with the investigation.
