Edgewater man shot at car in ‘road rage incident,’ police say

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A man who shot at a car in a “road rage incident” in New Smyrna Beach on Tuesday was arrested and charged later that afternoon, according to police.

New Smyrna Beach police said Jordan Alexander Beckford-Wallace, 28, fired a handgun at a vehicle that cut him off in traffic around 1:40 p.m. near the intersection of State Road 44 and Colony Park Road.

Beckford-Wallace drove away from the scene, but he was found and taken into custody a short time later, police said.

Beckford-Wallace was arrested without incident on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied vehicle and shooting from a vehicle.

His bond was set at $30,000, police said. According to Volusia County jail records, Beckford-Wallace bonded out of jail and was released before 5 a.m. Wednesday.
