Man shot to death during large fight in Orange County parking lot

Deputies investigate shooting along Colonial Drive near Powers Drive

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A man was shot and killed during a large fight in a parking lot in Orange County, deputies said.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday said Guerson Andy Merisier, 25, died in the shooting, which was reported at 4:18 a.m. Monday in the 6200 block of W. Colonial Drive near North Powers Drive.

The sheriff’s office said deputies responded to a 911 call and found Merisier suffering from a gunshot wound. Merisier was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, deputies said.

According to sheriff’s officials, there was a large fight in the parking lot and shots were fired.

Deputies believe “they have made contact with the other person involved in the gunfire, but no other details, including whether anyone was arrested, have been released.
